Objective

One of the primary objectives of the Dutch knowledge center for heat pipe technology is the transfer of heat pipe knowledge. This can be done in several ways, for instance:

  • Guest courses. For (academic) educational institutions we offer a special course program that is dedicated to give the students a basic level of heat pipe knowledge.
  • Course material. For the industry we can develop custom course material, enabling employees to quickly gather necessary heat pipe knowledge.

Heat pipe training

In cooperation with Optimal Thermal Solutions (http://www.ots-eu.co.uk/) we organize a 1-day heat pipe training. The dates for 2013 are April 17th and September 18th. For more information and application visit http://www.ots-eu.co.uk/training/heatpipe-training/.

Calculation module example

Below a calculation module is made available to do some heat pipe calculations (Java is a prerequisite). The program calculates the heat transport limit based on a couple of parameters (geometry, capillairy structure and working fluid). The calculations are based on the heat pipe's capillary limit. This is the maximum capacity the heat pipe has to pump the working fluid back to the evaporator. Above this limit, the heat pipe will dry out in the evaporator region and will therefore not function anymore.

No rights can be derived from this calculation module. If you seek more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
